Is A Pop Up Sale For You?

Wedding dress shopping is an exciting and fun part of the wedding planning experience. When you try on wedding gowns, you're building onto that perfect picture of your special day. Which is why it is so important that you have the right atmosphere to find your perfect gown. With that being said these are the reasons a Pop Up Sale might not be for you.

A Different Kind Of Yes!

While at Pop Up Sales you may still have a, "Yes!" moment. But, the experience may not be exactly what you dreamed of. When you find your wedding gown in store, you have a private one on one consultation with your own personal change room and consultant to help you. You have a podium and mirror to yourself and are able to spend time in each dress to truly determine how you feel in each gown. When you do find your gown you are surrounded by the polite chatter and happy commotion of your group and perhaps another group or two, who are also in search of their dream dress.

With a Pop Up Sale, your change rooms are usually cloth and your consultant typically is not a fully trained bridal consultant as they are just hired help for the event. That's if you even get a change room, some pop up sales do not provide change rooms. You are expected to wear leggings and tank tops and try on dresses in front of everyone. You may struggle to get a glimpse of yourself in a mirror before being rushed to decide whether or not this is the right gown for you. If you happen to find a gown you love, saying, "Yes!" in front of a crowded room of people may not feel as uplifting and special as it just feels like a relief.

Are Your Questions Being Answered?

The staff at Pop Up Sales are generally hired for the event, usually students. Usually they are not trained enough to answer your questions properly. They may not be able to tell you if a gown can be properly altered down to your size or let out enough. They may not be able to tell you how it would be hemmed or bustled. They may not even be able to direct you to a good seamstress in your area, who can answer those questions. You may leave with what you thought was the perfect gown, but it could actually end up being the polar opposite because nothing can be done to either fix or alter the gown for you. You may end up purchasing a second gown.

Fashion Can Be Affordable

One of the biggest draws with Pop Up Sales are the prices that the gowns are advertised for, but who's to say that you can't find a gown in that price range in a bridal salon. The gowns found at Pop Up Sales are usually older styles that can be a few years old and can no longer be ordered. They've been taken from place to place and can become more and more damaged with each move. Also, there is not as much care taken with the samples when they are tried on by multiple brides at multiple locations.

When you purchase a sample from a bridal salon, it's more likely that the gown has never left the salon before. Sure it has been tried on, but it has also been cared for and not packaged up and shipped from location to location to be pulled off the rack and tried on time and time again. Before going to a Pop Up Sale research bridal salons, usually they have a variety of gowns in different price ranges and sometimes they even do in store promotions which can bring down a price considerably. Be honest with your consultant about your budget, they know their inventory best and can help you find something to suit your dreams. You may even be able to find a current style gown for less then you would ever dream.

Love Your Wedding Gown

Your wedding gown sets the tone for your wedding day. This will be your most photographed dress of your life, and you want to make sure you love it. Sure you only wear the gown for one day, but you'll have the photos for the rest of your life. When you look back on your wedding day you shouldn't have any regrets. Price should be factored in, but it shouldn't be the only factor. There are plenty of places to cut costs when it comes to planning a wedding. At the end of the day no one will remember if the desserts were catered or homemade, but they will remember the bride and how she looked on her wedding day in her wedding gown.
