Taylor's Bride of the Month!
Wedding Date: October 10, 2009

The wedding story: Brian and I met, fell in love and were married on October 10, 2010. We had a perfect autumn day with a blue sky and white puffy clouds! I met Brian the summer in between my two years at school in British Columbia. I had come home for the summer, and after spending time together with friends, we realized that we had "a thing" for each other. The intensity built as the day of my flight back to BC approached, but we knew I would only be gone for 4 months, then home for a month, then 4 months away, then we could be together forever. Long distance dating for 4 months was difficult, but we persevered. We missed each other more than words could even say, but we were in such constant contact that we were doing life together, just with 4,000 km between us. On Christmas break, Brian proposed to me by the pond in the acreage behind his parents farm. We had already tentatively set our wedding date within a week of dating, and now it was official that we would get married on October the 10th. We spent another 4 months apart without planning much of the wedding, and when I came home for the summer after both of us had graduated from our school programs, the planning began! One thing you should know, my husband's favourite colour is orange. I was given free reign of most of the wedding planning...except that orange needed to be represented, and he wanted to wear orange. Trying to find an orange dress for the bridesmaids, figuring out how to represent orange in flowers and decor, and planning the colours of the guys' clothing proved to be challenging (I didn't know how many different colours of orange there were, and how many of those shades I didn't like), but in the end, we decided to highlight orange as an accent, but feature a spread of fall colours. We had reds and browns and ivorys, and even the girls were in dresses that were brown in dull light, but shone orange in the sunlight. Stunning. I am thrilled with the beauty of our wedding day, and the memories that live on in photos, videos and most importantly, our hearts forever.

Taylor's report card: When someone asks me where I got my dress and the bridesmaid's dresses, I say "Taylors...no other place is even worth mentioning". I had been in both of my older sisters' weddings, and they both took me to multiple gown shops for the bridesmaids dresses, and yet chose Linda at Taylor's because of the superior service and great quality. I decided that since I wanted the very best for my wedding, no store but Taylor's would do, and they exceeded my expectations! My dress was perfect, especially with the extra touches, embellishments and goodies that went along with it! The staff were very accomodating to my bridesmaids as well, with flexibility in fitting times, affordable alterations, and Linda went a few extra miles to ensure that my colours were perfectly represented in the fabrics. I felt like a queen on our wedding day, and I still keep my dress packed in a box within arms reach of the rest of my clothes...just to remember how special that day was.
